Bio:

Born in New York City, President Ike is a DJ in the style of a DMC contender with honed technical skills, and the ability to rock a crowd like globe trekking club DJs. Ike Comprises half the duo of llegal Thought Process with C-Doc (The Warhammer) and holds membership within the "World's First Virtual Rapp Squadd," The Impossebulls, who's mentor is none other than the legendary Chuck D of Public Enemy. Raised on Classical music and The Beatles, Ike's path to being a DJ was off the beaten track, one that included learning how to play the violin and singing in the Metropolitan Opera.

As well as being a group DeeJay, Ike mixes his own podcast, Indelible Beats, which contains, "Fresh beats for your head nodd and body move cravings..." a sort of fusion of uptempo, rhythm-oriented music meant primarily for the dancefloor. He also spins other casts on his radio weblog ranging from Old School Hip Hop to Undeground House to Pop Classics. Prez Ike's wide ranging taste in music is a refeshing reminder that DJs are not obligated to stick to one genre.

This is an important aspect to Ike's DJing as he believes that much of the record industry is geared towards pigeonholing artists into one category, and providing music fans with few options so the major labels can monopolize the market. What Ike shares with Chuck D, and his fellow Impossebull members is a deep seeded desire give exposure to those who are not given much chance at airplay on the radio, or in the music video world.

Prez Ike is a DJ with a musicians mind and spirit; dedicated to the ideals of his trade, by promoting new artists, ressurecting fogotten classics, defying genre barriers, and allowing the listener to either simply enjoy the vibe or get down on the dance floor.

What People Are Saying:

From Sara Murray, in Dimondback (University of Maryland student paper):

"Looking for a great podcast is one of the most frustrating aspects of podcasting, discouraging many inexperienced users from even attempting to give the technology a chance. Users have thousands of shows to sift through before finding one with music they like and minimal talk and commercials.

On the upside, you're eventually rewarded with shows like DJ President Ike's Indelible Beats (at www.prezike.com/mix.htm), an underground hip-hop fusion creation."

From AllMusic.com's review of The Impossebulls' self titled album, 'The Impossebulls (Special Edition),' by Jason Birchmeier:

- "...a show-stealing performance by DJ President Ike..."

From unique users on Podcastalley.com:

- "Class Act. Love the mix of genres and the ease with which Ike switches between old and new music."

- "One of the best. This is one of the most well thought out, eye-opening, fun-loving, head-nodding podcast I've heard. There is very little talking except when neccessary, and all the songs are blended into each other expertly by DJ President Ike. Ike seems to enjoy the funky side of house music, and never hesitates to mix in old school favorites, little-known fresh new artists, and flavorful instrumentals. I have taken his mixes along to parties and had great success. They are my break glass ins case of emergency CDs. When the music at a party blows, just throw on one of Ikes mixes [of Indelible Beats] -- #3, #5, and #8 are exceptional. Peoples ears perk up instantly and everyone wants to know whats on the CD player. Dont miss the Old School Hip Hop mix. Its an instant classic."

From unique users posting on http://radio.weblogs.com/0144499:

- "i realy like your mix… you are a very good dj…"

- "Yo, Yo yet again The Prez comes through with slamming beats and sweet music. Keep spinning the flavor mixes my brotha!"

- "Silly hot. Your mixes do it for me… your style and flavor gives great example to what's wrong with house. Let's get funkier and sweeter and funner. Or more fun. You do an awesome job with your 'casts. The hip hop one was fun as hell. Throw some of that outmore often…I love what you do, and dig on all the music…"

- "I just want to say I listen to every show you do religiously and they are all dope!!!!! I never know what specific genre you'll hit sometimes and this makes it more interesting."

- "you leave that sh** cut like a scratchin' post, boy. you are the sh**."

- Hi. I live in Brazil, and i found your website...I am writing this to congratulate [you on your] set's [sic]."
